Things to See & Do

If you crave horses, then you’ve come to the right place. The Bluegrass is known as “The Horse Capital of the World,” with heart-pounding Thoroughbred racing at Keeneland, the engaging features of the Kentucky Horse Park, which also include a museum and periodic traveling exhibits, competitions, horseback riding, and the many area horse farms that are available for tours.

Even if you aren’t into horses, there are plenty of other things to do in Lexington that are fun and won’t break your bank. Kentucky, and more specifically the Bluegrass, has a long tradition when it comes to the production of Bourbon, wines, and beer. The area is loaded with breweries, distilleries, and wineries, where visitors can view the production process first-hand. A few of the area wineries even have entertainment during the summer months.

There is no shortage of spectator sports in the area, enabling folks to cheer, cheer, cheer for the home team. Whether it’s great baseball action at Applebee’s Ballpark, University of Kentucky football or basketball, the powerful racing at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, or just up the road in Cincinnati with Major League Baseball’s Cincinnati Reds and the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals.

With so much to see and do around the Bluegrass, you will most certainly want to extend your visit with us or come back again and again.
