Commerce Lexington is proud to announce the addition of our new Public Policy Intern, Violet Ferguson. Throughout a six-week period this summer, Violet will be actively involved in policy-focused projects led by Andi Johnson, which aim to build technical skills and foster networking opportunities. We are excited about the perspective that Violet will gain and provide to Commerce Lexington this summer. Violet’s Personal Bio is available below. Hello, everyone. I’m Violet Ferguson, and I am thrilled to serve as the new Public Policy Intern at Commerce Lexington. I was born and raised in Lexington, KY, and graduated from Lexington Catholic High School. I will be starting my second year at American University in Washington, D.C., in the fall, but I am very excited to be back in Lexington for the summer. My desire to make change in my community has led me to major in legal studies with the goal of studying law in the future.
Living in DC during the school year has been an amazing experience, but it has also made me realize how much I miss the beauty of Lexington and the perks of living in the Bluegrass. I have a great community of friends and family living in the Greater Lex, with whom I enjoy spending most of my time. I am excited that Commerce Lexington is allowing me to explore my public policy interests in Lexington this summer. This is an amazing opportunity to take a closer look at Lexington through the lens of public policy, build skills, and create networking opportunities that will further my professional future. This internship is not only about professional growth; it's about pursuing something I truly value, bettering my community. I am eager to work in an environment that values not only the workplace community but also the community of Lexington and Kentucky. Thank you for welcoming me to Commerce Lexington! I am excited to be a part of the positive impact Commerce Lexington makes on this city! Comments are closed.
