Commerce Lexington Welcomes Reid Maynard as Public Policy Intern

A message from Reid Maynard:
I am beyond excited to be the new public policy intern at Commerce Lexington this summer. I was born and raised in Lexington, graduating from Tates Creek High School as an International Baccalaureate student. In the fall I will be starting my second year at Denison University in Columbus OH, double majoring in public political affairs and education with a minor in psychology.  After college I plan to return to Lexington to attend grad school with the hopes of working within the educational field.

Living in Ohio during the school year has been so much fun but also made me realize how much I miss Lexington and Kentucky. When I am in lex I am always out with friends and family enjoying everything the greater Lexington region has to offer.

I am grateful that commerce Lexington is allowing me to explore my interest in public policy this summer. This is an amazing opportunity to take a closer look at my hometown through the lens public policy, while building skills and creating network opportunities. This internship is not only about professional growth but about pursuing things I am passionate about which includes bettering the community. This summer I will be working closely on both education and public safety, identifying how they can be heightened through the chamber.
