Commerce Lexington congratulates Andi Johnson, IOM, Chief Policy Officer and Director of Regional Engagement, for recently completing 96 hours of continuing education to earn the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Institute of Organization Management (IOM) certification along with 51 other Southeast Institute graduates in Athens, Georgia. Since 1921, IOM has educated leaders from across the country, making it one of the oldest and best regarded adult education programs in nonprofit management. Today, Institute's curriculum educates executives on all facets of running a nonprofit organization. The program consists of four weeklong sessions at four different sites across the country. While on-site, attendees participate in 24 hours of course instruction on topics such as advocacy, new media, membership, finance, legal issues, human resources, and much more. Participants engage in lively discussions on a multitude of matters affecting the association and chamber industries, ultimately helping them build stronger organizations, better serve their members, and become leading business advocates.
Commerce Lexington President & CEO, Bob Quick, said, “Andi Johnson is a consummate chamber professional and a key leader for our organization. She is already well regarded across local, state, and federal government circles as an effective lobbyist when it comes to educating the public on the impact of policy issues. Her regional engagement efforts have helped bring together public and private sector leaders within our nine-county region to collaborate on the Regional Competitiveness Plan. With her IOM certification, Andi’s exceptional knowledge of policy matters and regional dynamics combined with a better understanding of all facets of our organization will greatly benefit Commerce Lexington.” Comments are closed.
