Elaine Ross Joins Commerce Lexington as Spring Marketing Intern

Commerce Lexington is pleased to announce that Elaine Ross has joined the organization as its spring marketing intern. A native of Glasgow, Kentucky, Ross is set to graduate this May with a degree in Integrated Strategic Communications from the University of Kentucky. She brings a diverse background in communications and public relations, having recently completed an internship in Florence, Italy, where she gained hands-on experience in the PR industry, worked on real campaigns, and developed a deeper understanding of what it takes to succeed in a global communications environment.

“I am so excited for the opportunity of joining the Commerce Lexington marketing team!” Ross said. She shared that stepping into this role will allow her to contribute her creative and organizational skills while learning from a team of experienced marketing professionals. Ross is eager to apply what she has learned from previous experiences, gain new insights into marketing strategy, and further develop the skills she will need to succeed in a professional marketing career. She sees this internship as a unique opportunity to grow both personally and professionally while contributing meaningfully to the organization’s goals.

Ross’ path to Commerce Lexington began when she discovered the internship posting on LinkedIn. She had previously worked at the Barren County Chamber of Commerce in her hometown, which she describes as “truly one of the best experiences” of her early career. That role sparked her passion for chamber work and showed her the impact that a local business organization can have on a community. When she learned about the opportunity to intern at a larger chamber in the Lexington region, she knew it would allow her to expand on that foundation, gain exposure to more complex marketing projects, and take her skills to the next level in a fast-paced, professional environment.
